Its actually very quiet in normal flight. As we know its during the hover the main rotor produces lots of noise, the landing site was no more than 1 mile from the house. I am glad it woke me up to be able to photograph it !

I was woken up this morning at 7.30am by a helicopter circling around near Livingston, West Lothian. I quickly jumped in my car and found where it had landed, a grass area near the Tesco Distribution centre in Deans. It was attending a serious RTA nearby. The pilot was very accomodating and allowed me to take some photographs of G-GSAS an Airbus Helicopters H145 operated by GAMA for The Scottish Ambulance Service.

Had Enstrom been able to produce the 480 at a lower cost and provide more competitive operating costs, this aircraft could have been an ideal 'next step' for R22 owners prior to the arrival of the R66.
