          • I came across this item on eBay but can't remember ever having seen a Gazelle using such lifting equipment.

It’s a lifting harness for lifting the airframe when there is no head attached It’s been on eBay for some time now as it’s not complete

Stefano, that contraption is for lifting the entire airframe affixed to two lifting points? Do you know where those lifting points are btw?

As I said it’s not complete, it picks up from 2 points at the bottom of the a frame deck brackets and at the two tie down eyes I found it very useful to pick up gaz airframes with no head or gearbox or a frames leaves a perfectly balanced Gaz to move to awaiting trucks.

Grazie Stefano! 👍 Was wondering about a two-point harness. Makes sense now.

            • What would we do without your help, Steve Thnx!

Re sling loads, I came across this interesting photo lifting an ALAT Gazelle during operations in the Central African Republic.

The boost pump should normally be on during flight,. The pilot probably forgot to turn it off, or perhaps it doesn’t work at all.
